As you all know John Nike Leisuresport Limited took the decision in March to temporarily close the rink. They then started statutory consultations in June for redundancies with their employees and their elected representatives.
This morning we have received the very sad news that the employee representatives and the John Nike Leisuresport Limited have agreed that a financially viable plan to keep the Bracknell Complex could not be found. It has been decided by the John Nike Leisuresport Limited that the complex will close permanently with immediate effect and all employees will be made redundant.
This is obviously incredibly sad news, predominantly for all of the staff at Bracknell along with everyone else involved with the rink and ice hockey at Bracknell. The committee at BIHC have met several times since March and will be meeting again tonight to discuss what options we have open to us. We will publish a further statement as soon as possible.
